Neil Beckett | An early-ripening site and still relatively young vines (2003) but dense planting (10,000 vines/ha) and hard pruning restrict yields. For the first time this was vinified not in barriques but in demi-muids (600l) which is almost certainly another reason for its success. Lightly reductive, but the emerald-green fruit shines through, both pure and ripe. Beautifully calm and composed, great depth, slightly more yellow fruit, but also a positive slight bitterness that heightens the intensity without any loss of elegance, and a gently flourishing finish. | 90
