Neil Beckett | This cuvée was not shown in London at the tasting of Flint Wines, who cleverly snapped up this prodigiously talented young producer with old vines in privileged sites. But even in a consistently excellent range as tasted at the domaine in November 2016, this stood out as a very complete wine and an exceptional expression of its site. Light to mid-ruby. Already expressive on the nose: griotte cherry and roseate allure. Beautifully silky, with great energy, immediacy, and intensity of fruit, but all so graceful. At once gourmand and croquant. Small wonder this is one of Pierre's favorites in a vintage that is very special here (and not only for the quality of the wines; Pierre's first daughter was born in the middle of the harvest). | 94
