BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Closed, a touch rustic on the nose, with prunes and road tar. Medium body, with some red fruit; a little short and dilute on the finish. | 86

Stephen Brook | Subdued red-fruits nose. Quite rich and full for La Morra, with ample weight of fruit and concentration. This is imposing and spicy, with pep and flair, without losing a welcome lightness of touch, since it’s not extracted. It’s elegant without being unduly pretty or flirtatious. Balanced, fruity, and long. | 92

Andrew Jefford | Deep, clear red. Spicy, almost medicinal scents; just a little bit raw and unpolished. A touch herbaceous, too. And the palate delivers what the aromas suggested: plenty of wine, but the core of fruit lacks finesse and shows some mixed ripeness. The tannins bring complexity nonetheless. | 85
