Alex Hunt | Quite lively and smoky on first sniff; some gamey notes as well. Very marked alcohol on the palate, which has probably become increasingly disjointed as the fruit has matured. There’s interest here but not much harmony or delight. | 84

Andrew Jefford | Still dark black-red; no signs of age here. Rather gruff, fierce aromas, but varietally true. Deep, full, a touch rubbery, almost as if it was a Pinot/Pinotage blend, but an exuberant mouthful of fruit that falls roughly in the right spectrum. | 85

Anthony Rose | Deep in color, mahogany toward the rim of the glass, plenty of youthful vigor about this Pinot, with sweet dark-cherry fruit and evolved balsamic notes, softening yet quite chunky tannins and juicy acidity, the powerful alcohol just poking through to leave the fruit a tad exposed; otherwise, impressive for its age. | 88
