Alex Hunt | Lots of spicy oak and heightened black fruit here, in a ’90s-Vosne sort of style. Good plumpness and balance through most of the palate. A bit inky to finish, and then a slightly worrying farmyard aftertaste. More ambition than purity here, but not bad. | 85
Andrew Jefford | Dark, brooding black-red. Sweet, warm, cherry Pinot fruit, with some oak thickening. Smooth, evanescent flavors of some charm for swift drinking. There’s no tannic base and the acidity is beginning to get the upper hand over the fruit. | 82
Anthony Rose | Good youthful ruby just starting to show signs of browning at the rim, there’s a meaty, balsamic note on the nose, savory, almost umami-like; the palate, starts out nicely cherry-like and sweet, building meaty, cherry-like flavor in the mouth, and tapering with still-youthful vigor toward a savory, tomato-leafy finish that’s a tad dry and chunky, but holding up well. | 88
