Alex Hunt | Fairly closed, with some pretty red-berry fruit aromas masked by light reduction. The structure is balanced, very honest and unforced, with a refreshing texture and seamless acid/tannin mix giving just enough bite. The flavors are just a bit marked by that reduction, though it won’t perturb anyone used to the same thing in Burgundy... | 85
Andrew Jefford | Clear, deep red. Very slightly mousy fruit. Simple, dilute wine and not a very elegant rendition of the varietal, either. | 79
Anthony Rose | Youthfully bright ruby in color, some reduction on the nose makes this a little bit bottle stinky initially, so it needs to come up for air; and once it clears, the palate is fine, with a good quality of ripe and nicely concentrated dark sweet berry fruitiness, in which a substantial grip of muscular tannins heralds a wine needing a year or so for those tannins to soften down, or at least be absorbed by meaty proteins, and the acidity provides a good counterpoint of freshness. | 90
