Stephen Brook: Granny Smiths and sour lemons on the nose. Rich, off-dry, with disjointed and perky acidity. One-dimensional, with a bitter lemon aftertaste. Lacks harmony and elegance. Cobbled together from disparate elements. 10
Jancis Robinson: First bottle: Tangy mineral nose with some lime. Not 100 per cent clean. Second bottle: Cleaner and tangier. Lots of rather soft, perfumed fruit. An easy drink, with a streak of minerality. 14
Alexander Scott: Similar slight bean-pod and asparagus notes to the St Antony Nierstein Pettental. Is this the same grower? The wine is ripe, but the terroir is not being allowed full expression. Pity, because the grapes are ripe, and there's concentration and balance on the palate. 14
