Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: This wine, tasted at the château, was one of the highlights of our entire tasting trip. Body was very well made, but the main attraction was the astonishing harmony between the flavours and the blue-blooded spicy tannins. The mouthfeel has all the nobility of a Lafite. A magnificent wine that reflects the merits of a uniquely privileged terroir and may even recall the magical and, until now, unprecedented style of the 1947 and 1953 Calon-Ségurs. 18
Michael Schuster: Lovely nose, dense combination of ripe, cassis Cabernet fruit and fine minerality. Elegantly balanced middleweight with a refined, natural tannin and fresh acidity. Sweetly ripe, but fresh Cabernet Sauvignon flavour. Minerally, elegant and linear Calon. Firm, medium- to long-term wine, plenty of matter, but without excess. 16
