Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Those who didn’t manage to lay their hands on the 2003 get a second chance with this superb wine produced in much more generous quantities! Dense colour, full, harmonious body, fabulously precise, thoroughbred tannins and the persistence worthy of a first growth. Slightly more vinosity and it would be outstanding! We are delighted to see how much softer it has become in outline without sacrificing any of its great Cabernet expression. 18
Michael Schuster: Dense and minerally to smell. Firm, elegant, concentrated middleweight, with a marked freshness of acidity and a fine tannin texture. ‘Crisply’ ripe fruit – both red and blackcurrant in character – firm, dry, muscular, minerally Montrose. Fine, but austere in style; good aromatic length. The class of the 1996, but this has more mass/density. Long-term wine. 16.5+
