Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Delicate, slender, fresh, long and intense. Not as much depth as its big brother, of course, but distinctly representative of that inimitably brilliant Margaux style. 15

Margaret Rand: Classically elegant and beautifully ripe and silky, with acidity to balance the sweet fruit. A very good Pavillon. 18

Michael Schuster: Crisp, minerally, red-fruit nose. Elegantly balanced, medium-weight, with a very fine tannin. Beautifully focused flavour: sweetly, freshly ripe, silky textured within the freshness. Succulent, pure and flowing, delicate yet mouth-coatingly scented. A lovely expression of Margaux, and a very fine second wine. Another first-rate Pavillon. 16+
