BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Not a very deep colour, lacking development on the mid-palate and, for the time being at least, not up to the standard of its closest and most illustrious neighbours. 13.5

Margaret Rand: Chewy, but the fruit is pretty concentrated. The tannins are a little bit dry but not problematically so. 16.5

Michael Schuster: Dense, sweet, ripe-blackberry nose. Rich, fleshy middleweight with a firm, dry (new-oak) tannin. Ripe, fleshy, vanilla cream, plummy Merlot fruit – quite complex, long and warm across the palate. Spicy, exotic and with a good long finish within the firm tannin. An excellent Petit Village. 15.5
