Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: What strikes you about this wine is not so much the body as the soft, delicate mouthfeel brought about by the beautifully harmonious tannins. That said, it doesn’t quite have the aromatic charm of some of the other great Libourne wines. 17
Michael Schuster: Inky purple. Sweetly ripe to smell; dense, rich, ample, fleshy wine, all enveloped in a firm, long-term blanket of tannin; deep, sonorous, close-grained and complex flavour, with a very sweet and very spicy Merlot fruit and great, ringing length. A wine of great scope, but very sinewy for Pomerol this year. When will it come round? 18?
