Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Complete, fat, and aromatically seductive, Pétrus easily rises abve the complex conditions of the vintage to achieve a profound and unctuous structure and exceptionally silky texture. A wine that heightens the myth. 18
Michael Schuster: Dense, fresh, persistent, minerally nose, oak cream-tinged; rich, soft to fresh middleweight Pétrus with a fine but firm tannin; sweetly ripe fruit, complex, and racy within the moderately fleshy richness; long and close knit, gently mouthcoating, with a clear mid-palate complexity and tenacity of flavor; very sweet fruit on the long finish, not a big Pétrus, but still clearly at the head of the appellation. Needs time. 2020–35. 17.5/18
