BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Knockout sample: wonderfully complex flavour with a more pronounced botrytis character than most. Beautifully integrated body and sweetness, definition, length and class – all the hallmarks of a top-ranking cru. A model of its kind. 18.5

Margaret Rand: Good complexity and concentration; elegant, firm and well structured, with great length. One of the few to show real botrytis character this year. 18

Michael Schuster: Dense and citrussy to smell, with a clear minerally underlay. Rich, but very elegantly balanced, vigorous wine. Intensely sweet, succulent, unctuously textured without being ‘thick’; a long, racy, aristocratic, barley-sugar, lemon and mineral flavour, and excellent length. Should be very good indeed. 16.5
