Alison Buchanan: Black plum to a tight plum rim, this is very subdued on the nose, brooding dark fruit, hot earth and mineral notes just showing through. The palate is very richly textured, creamy, with well-coated but firm tannins complementing rich, supple black-cherry and blueberry fruit. Crucially, there is a lovely freshness, which gives the whole palate and finish a lift. 18

Jancis Robinson: Purple. Very deep, dark, subtle fruit, almost closed, powerful style. Tempranillo fruit prominent, musky richness, long, long, long – but manages to be delicious at the same time. 18

Jeremy Watson: This has a lovely balance that is not too anything except an intensely dark colour. The rich aromas of the high extract are just right, leading to rich fruits and tannins in the mouth. Almost, but not quite there! 17.5
