Alison Buchanan: Black-shot garnet, this offers inky black fruit on the nose, hot earth and warm fruitcake. The palate is silky rich and supple – rather decadently so – with velvet tannins overshadowed by plump, generous fruit, complemented by dried violets. Very rich, this could do with a little extra lift. 17
Jancis Robinson: Red/garnet. Very subtle, rather reluctant, a hint of perfume. Clean and fresh, bright fruit, oak not evident except in maturity, good follow-through with no one flavour element dominating. Gentle length with a clean, crisp finish. Excellent. 18
Jeremy Watson: Gloriously rich fruit and nicely balanced tannins yielding a lovely feeling about the next sip or glass. This is another great wine but not quite 19. 18.5
