Alison Buchanan: Black cherry in colour, this has a hot, spicy nose revealing toasted brioche and warm fruitcake. Very rich, sweet, plump fruit comes through on the palate, with an earthy complement. Charm, however, has been somewhat sacrificed to power. This is a big wine, and the tannins just lack finesse. Impressive, but it just loses the edge on charm. 18.5

Jancis Robinson: Purple. Nice, warm, ripe, almost ‘toffee’ richness; bright Tempranillo fruit. Clean, fresh, crisp fruit and tannins. A little lightweight, and the length doesn’t really have the warmth. 15

Jeremy Watson: Again, a very lovely wine with bags of potential. Great extract of fruit, and tannins deliver a wonderful mouthful to be lingered over. 18.5
