Alison Buchanan: Black cherry-garnet to a loose garnet rim, this has a wonderfully heady, almost incense nose – spicy. The palate is enticingly perfumed – again reminiscent of incense and potpourri. This has quite a traditional feel, with the palate perhaps just starting to fade, rather dry tannins cropping off the finish. 14.5

Jancis Robinson: Red, hint of garnet. Dark, oaky hints, ‘meaty’, savoury fruit. Lovely, big, dark-fruit structure; mid-palate turns to savoury with some tannin, but not dominant. Length just starts to dry out, but still very much alive. 17

Jeremy Watson: Brick colour nicely reflects the age of the wine. Aromas show hints of roast lamb with the fruits and tannins. Flavours are quite youthful, but not sure the structure is there for it to develop into a great wine. 17
