Oz Clarke: Quite deep. A little spicy and fair oak weight. There is some decent fruit, but the tannin is fairly powerful. It’s an impressive pile-driver Cab but is fairly solid and tannic. Some oak nuttiness and squashy ripe fruit make it a decent drink. 15

Alex Hunt: Closed, minerally blackberry-fruit aromas. Lovely shape in the mouth: rounded but controlled, with pure fruit and excellent balance, save for alcohol intruding on the finish. 17

Margaret Rand: Round, bright fruit, plenty of tannin – but ripe tannin; coffee fruit, good balance. It carries conviction, as opposed to just window dressing, but the finish is fairly foursquare. 17
