Oz Clarke: Fairly deep young red. Reasonable fruit on the nose, rather ripe, though some acid – mid-weight. Rather rasping tannin, even a little bitter extract – and fair acid. In fact, the acid and the tannin rather dominate the fruit: there’s no Sonoma lushness here. A little pleasant oak spice and vaguely jammy fruit. Not exciting. 13

Alex Hunt: Fairly restrained aromas, hints of leaf and mineral in the syrupy black fruit. Develops some tobacco complexity in the glass. Structurally very well balanced, with clean acidity, supportive but not aggressive tannin and unobtrusive alcohol. 16

Margaret Rand: Elegant, well-tailored wine, refined tannins, silky, focused, precise. There’s a lightness of touch I like, and the balance is good. There’s a hint of cooked fruit on the finish, and the finish is long and refined. It’s a well-behaved wine that sits with its knees together and its hands folded. 16
