Neil Beckett: Medium-deep ruby. Composed and stylish on the nose, with a roseate fragrance and kirsh-like richness. Dense, richly structured, well balanced and sustained on the mid-palate, suffused with perfectly ripe fruit that survives the gentle surge of the tannin. A beguiling softness but only moderate length on the mocha-like finish. For a grand cru this lacks a certain intensity of fruit, but better to err on the side of softness this vintage.
