BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Medium straw. Classic GV nose, with that white-pepper character, white peach and apricot, and a mineral tang. Rich, bold, rounded, fine acidity, tight and racy. A very slight bracing bitterness but not disagreeable, and it adds a bit of complexity. Admirable concentration, silky texture and very persistent. Very good length. 18.5

Simon Field: Straightforward, slightly buttery nose. The palate is nettly, uncompromising and far from commercial. Lacks the structure and density of some of its peers. A slightly hard, taut finish that begs for food in temperance. 15.5
