Stephen Brook: Medium straw. Bracing nose, quite honeyed, somewhat evolved, some botrytis? Rich but has a good attack, quite powerful but with a hint of sweetness. Some overripeness here and too much alcohol, but it has personality and vigour, with a chewy, peppery finish. Almost earthy. Good length. 17

Roy Richards: Lush, alcoholic, botrytised, but not uninteresting. Yellower than the other 2000 Rieslings. The first one with real concentration, but with that comes some rusticity. 16.5
