BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Deep red. Smoky nose of tobacco and cherries, which shows some complexity. Very rich, juicy, plump and concentrated, with masses of ripe fruit - black cherries. Weighty but not harsh tannins, and well balanced. Very good length, with an opulent, majestic finish. 19

Alison Buchanan: Deep-ruby garnet. Richly textured, hot spicy, savoury fruit on the nose - quite serious - with black pudding and sultana notes with a heady dash of spice. Rich, sweet, supple fruit on the palate, plump and ripe with well- integrated, ripe, sweet tannins. Rather seductive, really, with a light touch of wood. Elegant and fresh. 17
