BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Something slightly musty on the nose, and lackingin freshness. This feature follows through into the wine, an off-note on the finish. The tannins have a certain roughness. It may improve with time, but I doubt it. 12

Stephen Brook: Deep red. Rich plums and mocha nose. Rich, luscious, plump, plummy palate, with big, ripe tannins. Rather low acidity for a Sangiovese. Very attractive if not that persistent. 16.5

Alison Buchanan: Black ruby-garnet. Caramelised/ grilled bananas - not good in a Tuscan red. Volatility comes through on the palate. A bit thin, too. 12
