BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Deep red. Spicy, smoky nose of black cherries. Medium -bodied. Attractive fruit but rather soupy. Tight and spicy, so it may come together with time, but it lacks zest and finishes a bit flat. Medium length. 14.5

Alison Buchanan: Black ruby-velvet - oh, goodness. Caramel, chocolate and vanilla - where is the wine? More pastry shop than cellar. Rather spiritous fruit finally kicks in. Weird, out-of-sync combination of dry tannins, blueberry fruit and volatility. This is ambitious, but it doesn’t make it. 10
