Andrew Jefford: Pale gold. Rather heavy arom atically, with a slight sense of burnt cakes or creme-caramel topping dominating the very ripe fruit beneath. Concentrated fruits, rounded, exuberant, generous. In style, rather more northerly (apples, pears) than I was expecting. A big whack of free SO2, and relatively little minerality. Nonetheless, an enjoyable wine... 14
Simon Larkin : Appearance in line with preceding examples. The aromas lack expression - comparatively mute, with some elderflower notes. The palate, however, shows some restrained yet ripe fruit, mouthwatering lime and riper peach notes, too. The acidity is quite measured. Some absence of purity lowers the score even if the benefit is given. 12.5
Alexander Scott: Similar to the Wallhausen Johannisberg, but this adds a faint note of blackcurrant leaf. It seems more loose -knit on the palate, more accessible now perhaps, but with less scope and certainly less drive. 14
