Simon Field: A powerful and honest nose, black fruit and hints of tar. The palate is surprisingly sweet and rounded. An eloquent and sensuous wine, it will not overburden the intellect but will certainly satisfy the senses. 16
Andrew Jefford: Beginning to lose all its blackness now; fully clear. Sweet, fragrant, herby fruits, which in the context of this vintage mean premature evolution. Mid-depth, sound, balanced, with some peppery blackcurrant. Lacks middle-palate amplitude and width. 13.5
Richard Mayson: Very deep ruby centre, thin purple rim. Attractive, rich, ripe fruit on the nose with more to give. Rich and fleshy on the palate, with spicy tannins rising in the mouth and firm bittersweet length. 2010-2030. 16.5
