Simon Field: Lighter in colour than its peers, and seems somewhat dilute in the company, visually. This is confirmed by a nose that has a pleasing caramel note, backed up by oranges and minerals. The palate is rather simplistic with notes of raisins and toffee. This is the solitary representative of this vintage - pleasant enough, but perhaps slightly out of its depth in this illustrious line-up. 12

Andrew Jefford: Very pale for Vintage Port. Lots of dry herb and dusty Port-lodge aromas. A pleasant drink with some complexity from the herbal notes, but such flesh as it had has gone and won’t be back. 12

Richard Mayson: Pale pink-red with a very pale-pink rim. Shallow nose; rather weedy fruit. Soft, sweet and fully ready to drink, with spicy, plummy tannins rising in the mouth. Standing up well for a 1975. Drink now before the fruit dries out. 14
