BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Rich, broad nose, rather earthy, hay. Sweet, broad, fat, overripe pears, very low acidity. This finishes flat and rather phenolic; fairly short. 11

Andrew Jefford: Pale water-gold. Pleasant but unfocused aromas hinting at tangerine and nectarine, withatouch of Rheinhessen spice. Soft, easy-going, pleasant, delicately spicy flavours. Nice shape and balance to this wine: a great-drinking buy hallmarked by the generosity of the year and some of the spice of the South. 15

Jancis Robinson: Creamy, appetising nose with some depth. Then on the palate a certain slackness. Off-dry wine with a little astringence on the finish but not enough vineyard character. Tails off on the finish, but otherwise very good. Drink 2007-2010. 14.5
