Tim Atkin : Dark, almost opaque, inky purple. Very youthful. Attractive, focused, concentrated nose, quite muscular and still in its infancy. The palate is densely packed, with lots of ripe fruit, but the overall effect is marred by excessive use of oak, green-edged tannins and hard acidity. The wine seems unbalanced to me, but it may improve with time. 15.5

Oz Clarke: Fairly deep. Good, quite rich, but also slightly vegetal. Quite typical Aussie - cool mix of black fruit and green veg. On the palate, less green veg and richer fruit. Quite fat but still reserved, undemonstrative black WA fruit. Even so, it’s good, deep; the oak is slightly charry but well blended. There’s perhaps a little char roughness (nut husk), and perhaps a touch of cellar flatness, but this is pretty good, green-streaked, dark Cabernet and it will age. it isn’t thrilling, although I quite like the slightly meaty style.17
