Tim Atkin : Youthful, almost opaque purple/crimson. Mint/eucalyptus notes on the nose, backed up by well-handled oak and a smoky note. The wine is very youthful on the palate and its various elements haven’t quite knitted together yet. I also find the finish a little dry, but this should develop in bottle. 14.5
Oz Clarke: Good deep red. On the nose, immediately pepper and lovage and a flicker of mint - but will there be enough fruit to match the herbs? On the palate, yes. It's good, deep, again reserved and Cabernet-dominant. But the herbs are attractive and will marry into cedar in 4-6 years (the wine will easily age ten). The fruit is dark olive/cherry and the tannin verges on the inky but is integrated. The wine is minty withatouch of aniseed, and the fruit is deep and dry. Lovely, haughty wine for now and up to ten years. 18
Michael Schuster: Black-red; intense cedary nose withatouch of cooler-climate mint; full-bodied, concentrated wine with a very firm, dry tannin; strong cassis flavour, moderate complexity and medium length, but as yet dominated by its alcohol and tannin - forceful and potent rather than fine. 15.5
