Tim Atkin : Lighter colour, some development. Washed-out nose, despite the high alcohol. Rather soft and simple, but a pleasant enough drink. Finishes a bit hot and dry. 12.5
Oz Clarke: Good red, but beginning to lighten and age. The nose is soft and pleasant but not that distinct. On the palate, not bad. It’s quite toffeeish and ready to drink, the fruit is red not black, and the tannin and acid are in order. But it isn’t particularly exciting. Attractive, easy to drink. Not memorable, but nice. 14.5
Michael Schuster: Dark, brick-rimmed red; intense, cedary, blackcurrant Cabernet nose; well-balanced, concentrated medium-weight, with a fine-grained, dry tannin; refined cassis flavour, nice complexity across the palate, subtle mineral underlay, good scented length. 16.5
