Tim Atkin : Youthful, if slightly subdued purple. Faintly musty nose with masses of young oak in evidence. Very concentrated, almost essence of Cabernet characters, but the wine lacks balance and charm. It's ripe and well made, but it's something of a one-glass wine. Parker juice. 14
Oz Clarke: Two bottles opened - the second definitely corked, the first slightly musty. Does this imply a batch or winery problem? The palate of the first is not quite fresh, but musty rather than corked. It’s quite full and seems as though it’s going to go somewhere, but it doesn’t. The mustiness continues to nibble at the heart of the fruit, and when you've spat the wine, whatever flavour there is just drifts away, leaving nothing to savour. The Merlot here seems to have served to dilute the Cabernet rather than flatter it. 12.5
Michael Schuster: Dark purple-red; scented, persistent, fairly subtle nose; well-balanced, slightly dry-edged, medium-bodied wine; mineral-tinged cassis and fine oak-vanilla flavour, nice length across the palate, and good scented persistence. 15.5
