Tim Atkin : Developed ruby/purple. Alcohol dominated nose, slightly Porty and overripe. Palate dry and tannic with pronounced acidity. A wine that has seen better days. 12.5
Oz Clarke: Good intense red, hint of age. On the palate - a not wholly successful mix of wild red fruit and toffee oak, and a rather severe tannin. This wine is nine years old. It’s had enough time to soften the tannins, which tells me these are unripe tannins and they won’t soften. The flavours are not bad, deep-red fruit and fair acid - but with those tannins, don’t keep the wine in your mouth for too long. 14
Michael Schuster: Dark, brick-rimmed red; dense, cedary, persistent nose; cassis and oak vanilla. Concentrated medium-full wine marked by its added acidity especially; good-quality Cabernet fruit rather dried by its wood tannin and added acid; both shorten the flavour. 15.5
