Michael Schuster: Ripe blackberry fruit to smell; medium-full, firmly tannic around a supple core of ripe, fruit; moderate complexity, good light length. Juicily ripe and attractive rather than classy. Good Giscours. 15+

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Dense colour, ripe fruit, impressively viscous attack. Ultra-smooth tannins, length and intensity in a rich, ripe, great modern wine. Another terrific success from this chateau, and one of our favourites this year. Bags of body, deliciously silky, great depth and staying power - a wine to remember. 18/19
