Michael Schuster: Dense blackberry fruit; fluid blackcurrant core within a very firm tannin, medium length. Long term, rather hard work at the level. 14+

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Dense full wine, with powerful tannins, but well balanced by enough ripe fruit to impart richness and complexity in the course of aging. Not quite as long as the St-Juliens but clearly from the same stable - which is hardly surprising! 15/16
