Michael Schuster: Rich, ripe, gently minerally nose; elegantly balanced middleweight, supple and finely tannic; ripe-fruited, well-sustained, fairly fleshy core that is stylish, complex, aromatic and long. Lovely harmonious wine - particularly successful in the vintage. 16.5
Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Delicate notes of oak and red berries, succulent attack, fine, fruity length, supple structure. One of the fleshiest, sleekest yet most delicate wines to come from this chateau in recent years. The astonishing, almost Burgundian overtones of the first nose contrast vividly with the imposing austerity of this year's Haut-Bailly. 16/18
