Michael Schuster: Strong, sweet, oaky, almost Port-like nose; rich, fleshy fruit, drily tannic texture. New-wood astringency impinges strongly on the flavour. Will this ever be nice to drink? 15?

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Unstinting oak, generously developed bouquet and more open and sensual than the Belair. Lots of flesh and rippling, textured tannins; well crafted, but holds no surprises. 17
