Andrew Jefford: Full clear red. Pretty red-fruit scents; a floral note, too. Great delicacy and definition. (This cask sample is from old casks only, and has only had one racking. 2006 was the second year of biodynamics—and it was an unusually late harvest for Chandon de Briailles.) Quite tart and malic (though the malos happened early this year, so this comment applies as much to level and style of acidity as anything). Very pure and fresh, but not a wine to give to Burgundy debutants: edgy and incisive, on the bare edge of ripeness. 13
