Nicolas Belfrage: Medium-deep. Nose a bit oaky, fruit and balsam, spice and herb. Very together palate with quite a lot happening – layers of flavor, sour cherry fruit, and sufficient but not excessive structure. On the modern side but has length and charm and should age well. 17

Roy Richards Ill-defined. This is tight, but the palate gives clear evidence of barrique. International and a wasted opportunity. 14

Franco Ziliani: Splendid and luminous ruby color. The nose is very fresh, attractive, appealing, with an interesting mix between a luscious, fleshy fruit (cherry, plum, and cassis) and some flowery, mineral, spicy peppery notes, with a hint of licorice and mint, aromatic herbs, and perhaps rhubarb and dried citrus. The palate is rich, with solid structure, great persistence, bold ripe and soft tannins. Well-balanced in all the details, with length, richness of savor, and a vibrant earthy and mineral finish. For me a great Brunello that you can appreciate and drink now, but also lay down, as there is a great ageing potential. Chapeau! 18
