Nicolas Belfrage: Good Brunello style, uninspired. 14.5

Roy Richards Subdued, self-confident, gentle fruit, could be Burgundy, lovely soft unrestricted fruit. Very classy and less overoaked than some. 17

Franco Ziliani: Rich, intense but brilliant color with depth. The nose is intense, rich, complex with cherry, plum, and cassis fruit, leather, dried flowers, black pepper and licorice. Not dense, but fresh, elegant, well-balanced on the palate, with soft, round, velvety tanning, large and vertical, supple and fleshy fruit, very savory and appealing. Very good expression of Montalcino’s Sangiovese. A wine with good ageing potential that respect the identity and the “legend” of Brunello. 17
