Nicolas Belfrage: Medium-deep, bright. Sangiovese fruit on nose, but nose laid back, acidity a bit too apparent, fruit behind, tannins a touch drying. Certainly not ready yet; the question is whether it will develop.15.5

Stephen Brook: Dumb nose. Broad, sleek, quite soft for Sangiovese; yet it’s quite tannic. Overall, there’s a lack of energy and more than a trace of overripeness. Sags on the finish, which is rather dry. Too evolved for a 2006. 13

Andrew Jefford: Clear light garnet, perhaps looking a little elderly for a five-year-old. Harmonious, rounded scents of earth and vellum. After a while in the glass, there is a little dusty caramel; unlikely to resist prolonged exposure to air. Smooth, plain, without many intricacies or many charms either, but the fundamental incision of this variety in this place gives it impact. Tart, slightly dry finish. 11.5
