BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium orange on rim. Raspberry and cherry nose. Lowish acidity, some jammy fruit, enjoyable but not one to last long. Drink 2010 for 6+ years. 13

Roy Richards Reductive, seemingly dirty – clears a bit, so probably just reduction. This is an open, accessible wine, some grainy tannins, authentic enough, but perhaps simple. 12

Franco Ziliani: Ruby-violet color, a fresh, elegant bouquet with cassis and cherry notes, mineral and peppery nuances, some salty and aromatic herbs. The palate is very fresh and salty, not a great structure, but with great purity of expression and very Sangiovese style. Long vertical, salty, energetic finish. Very good to drink now. 17
