Alison Buchanan: This is a very lascivious wine, languid and opulent, butterscotch–rich and seductive. The nose, combining all of the richer elements nonetheless has a fresh bright vitality. The palate is very rich and creamy, wonderfully ripe and although marked by wood, it is very well–integrated. Ripe, full and, despite weight, this retains elegance. 17
Alex Hunt: An oaked style, with an extremely well–balanced nose: just the right degree of toast, nuts and fruit. The palate could do with a touch more fruit, but overall this is quite an impressive alternative to, say, an oaked Chablis premier cru. 14.5
Andrew Jefford: Full butter–yellow. Oaked profile here, giving the herbal, stony P–F fruits a plump vanillic sheen. Concentrated and vivid, but for me there is a slight stuggle going on between the plunging acidity and the sweet breadth from the wood. The two need ligaments to bind them together, but I cannot locate these; the overall effect is (as the terroir dictates) pure and bracing, and the wood a slightly alien presence. 12
