Stephen Brook: Light gold. Muted nose, peaches, orange peel, a hint of barley sugar. Medium-bodied, sleek, and silky, not much weight but has an engaging, light touch. Only moderately concentrated, but the acidity is attractive and keeps the wine light on its feet. Stone-fruit and mandarin flavors. A graceful style, which seems appropriate for the vintage. Nicely balanced and moderately persistent. 15
Andrew Jefford: Very full gold. Appears complete and evolved already, with rounded butter-fruit scents of modest persistence and drive but impressive harmony. Some simple hop-bract notes behind. Lush, tangy, full. As the aroma suggested, this is a precocious, moderately sweet Sauternes of attractive, unchallenging character that could certainly be consumed relatively quickly, while its tangy fruits still have plenty to give but before they fade. There is acidity, but it’s soft and tenuous. 13
Michael Schuster: Bright orange-gold; fresh, waxy, honeyed Semillon nose; very nicely balanced, fresh, medium-weight Sauternes; very sweet, but not excessively so, with a nicely defining acidity, quite complex, stylish, and with good, scented length. Most attractive, a lovely second-rank Sauternes. Now to 2018. 15.5+
