BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Deep, almost opaque. Somewhat heavy, neutral nose. Earthy, overweight style, more power than scent. Gritty finish. 14

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny. Complex, mature, intense, meaty, black-fruit nose, with smoke, black olives, and dried flowers. Full body, with rich, sweet black fruit and a fairly long, clean finish. Generous but a touch overripe. 15.5

Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Another wine in which there are some shaded-canopy, methoxypyrazine notes on both aroma and palate. The wine is sweet and full in the mouth, but the aromatic repertoire should be red or black, not green. 12
