BB | Garnet to pink. Tar and smoke nose, exuberant and touch rustic yet complex and earthy with evident oak . Fairly balanced palate touch simple finish.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 88
AJ | A super-dark wine for the vintage, though translucent and unforbidding: more red than black. Bright, vibrant, bustling, earthy: a straightforward aromatic profile, but good. Lots of copse and woodland behind, and the tiny flowers of the woods, too. Draws you in. The fruit profile is relatively simple here, and almost beefy in style. Tasty, generous wine and it will last well, too. The aromatics suggested a little more finesse that the palate is at present delivering, so time may up the point score somewhat.Drink Dates: 2026 - 2035. 89
MP | Pronounced nose with obvious notes of pain d'epice, date, raisin, cooked black plum, black cherry and damp earth with spicy notes of cinnamon and liquorice. The finish balances fine tannins ,firm acidity, and a decent core of black fruit that combine to drive a long finish. This is a lovely example of traditional Brunello albeit without that extra layer of complexity.Drink Dates: 2025 - 2028. 93
