Michael Schuster: Dense in fine, fragrant blackcurrant aroma; fresh, elegant, concentrated, very finely tannic, a beautiful constitution; a lovely sweetness of fruit, long and rich, generous but restrained, intense yet discreet, all within a particularly fine, satiny tannin; all beautifully defined and sustained by the fresh acidity; great length of flavor across the palate, and with great aromatic persistence. A truly beautiful and complete Pichon Baron. 2030–45+. 94–96

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Black color, ample flesh, dense, tense, it reminds us of the 2010, but with even more purity; notes of violet and the unctuousness of a very great vintage. This vintage has the highest proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon yet (more than 80%). 97–98
