Ella Lister: Blood red. More developed on the nose than the succeeding vintage, with tobacco and wild flowers, this wine has inviting, sweet red fruit. Lively acidity forms the skeleton that contains everything else, then hands the baton over to the tannins toward the finish. The wine seems to be slightly lacking in stuffing inside this frame, which means it probably doesn’t have quite the aging potential of some of the other more structured vintages.
